About me

Hi, I'm Dr. Louise Schriewer, the founder of Leader for Good.

If we have met previously, you may have known me as "Bere" or "Berenike". In early 2024, I decided to go by my middle name instead.

I'm a lawyer turned professional wizard (I mean... coach).

This is how I got here:

My story

The shortest version of my story is that I used to be a passionate, weird, and wise kid. Then I grew up, became a lawyer, and forgot all about my magic and weirdness…

It took me a long time to find my way back home to myself.

Now, I (mostly) embrace all of who I am and help others do the same. I believe that the most fulfilling path is the one that leads back to your own unique magic, and my mission is to help you find it.

Oh, and here's early proof of me doing what I love:

Longer version of my story, in 3 acts:

Act 1: The Unexpected Plot Twist 🐛

Once upon a time, I was a high-paid attorney, working on multi-billion-dollar cases, qualified for judicial office, and nearly done with a doctorate from the world’s oldest university institute in international law.

I seemingly had it all — including my dream job with a legal team whose mission I’d admired from afar. I’d read about their work in a newspaper, fantasized of contributing, and through a string of wild coincidences, gotten a job offer from them. Wild, right?

Oh, and after having given up on love, I had finally met my soul mate. He was an American I had met in Berlin and lived thousands of miles away, but then, who's counting?

On paper, my life was perfect. In reality, I was miserable.

I was constantly stressed, pretending to be someone I wasn't (a muggle), and rushing through life. Even when my partner flew over to see me, I hardly had time for him.

The universe, in its infinite wisdom, sent me a wake-up call in the most unlikely of places: a dentist's chair. While getting a root canal, a thought popped into my head with stunning clarity: "I'm so glad I don't have to be in the office right now."

Let that sink in: I preferred a root canal to being at my "dream job"!

That was the moment that showed me, without a shadow of a doubt, that I was on the wrong path. The magic and weirdness I'd left behind in childhood were calling me home.

Act 2: The Great Leap Into the Unknown 🦋

After a long-drawn-out, epic internal battle, I finally chose to listen to my inner voice.

I made the terrifying and exhilarating decision to leave the legal career I had spent a decade building, move to another continent to live with my soul mate (that I had never lived with before), and build a business from scratch.

From that leap of faith, a new path unfolded. I eventually created a life and business that was deeply aligned not with what I thought I should be, but with who I truly am.

I would be lying if I said this journey was easy, but even during the more challenging times, I was happier than before my leap of faith.

Act 3: Living a Life of Purpose (and Magic) 🌟

Today, my heart sings when I help people make profound, positive changes in their work and lives. It's a joy to witness the ripple effect of their transformation. Beyond individual coaching, I also offer tailored consulting and coaching services to CEOs of small companies, helping them navigate their leadership journeys.

I’ve had the privilege of facilitating leadership development programs for both businesses and non-profits, with a special soft spot for my work with the Leadership Capital Institute of ServiceCorps in 2016. Teaching is another passion of mine; outside of law, a truly fascinating experience was facilitating Ubiquity University's Transpersonal Integral Psychology Course in 2016.

In recent years, I co-led the multinational legal team for Volt, a groundbreaking pan-European political movement. After Volt secured its first seat in the 2019 European Parliamentary elections, I passed the baton to my successor, eager to dive into new endeavors.

My journey also led me to Coach.me in 2019, a coaching platform founded by Tony Stubblebine (now CEO of Medium.com). For over three years, I had the joy of leading a monthly self-promotional challenge for their vibrant community. As a Top Writer on Medium, my work has been featured in various outlets including Elephant Journal, Huffington Post, Positively Positive, The Startup (now Start It Up), The Ascent, Be Yourself, and Your Tango.

My involvement with Coach.me eventually led me to become the main editor for Better Humans, one of Medium's oldest and largest publications, boasting nearly 400,000 followers! Let's just say it was pretty nerve-wrecking to send out my first editorial article for that publication.

In 2023, I stepped away from that role to focus more fully on my business, my life, and my family... though not necessarily in that order. 😉

Outside of work, you’ll find me cherishing time with family, family, or just myself. I’m into reading, meditating, eating vegan food, exploring obscure and occult topics, soaking up nature, practicing yoga, and martial arts practice (my happy place)!

And now enough about me, let's explore...
