What makes my process so effective?
My process has helped hundreds of people on six continents create changes in their lives. (Check out some of their success stories here.)
My approach has helped people from vastly different professional backgrounds, including:
academics, accountants, actors, attorneys, small business owners, and CEOs of small companies, medical doctors, pilots, personal assistants, secretaries, school teachers, therapists, and many more!
It has also helped people who are on parental leave, retired or semi-retired, or going through a career transition.
In addition to working with individual people, my process also works in group settings.
🪄 Here's how the magic happens 🪄
When people are unhappy about their work situation, it's generally for three reasons:
- their work situation isn't aligned with who they are, and/or
- their work situation isn't aligned with what's most important to them, and/or
- their work situation isn't aligned with how they like to work or be treated.
Examples for 1. include someone who is employed but really wants to be their own boss, an artist who is stuck in a left-brain profession, or a retiree who feels called to contribute through their work.
➡️ Essentially, there's a disconnect between the person and their work situation, like a shoe that's the wrong size for your foot and keeps on falling off. Grrr!
Examples for 2. include work situations that keep people from things that are important to them, such as family, health, or inner peace.
➡️ This is like wearing a shoe that's the right size... but it's not right for what you most want to do (like wearing dress shoes when you really want to walk in the woods). Ugh!
Examples for 3. include being in a toxic work environment, dealing with rude co-workers or customers, or having to work from the office when you really want to work from home (or vice versa).
➡️ This is like wearing a shoe that's causing constant blisters on your feet. Ouch, ouch, ouch!
As you can probably tell, there is significant overlap between these categories, and all of them can be true at the same time. A shoe can be the wrong size, wrong for the occasion, and blister-inducing... which is just infuriating. Bah! 😡
So, let's talk about how I help people find the "right shoe", shall we?
My approach works so reliably because it addresses all 3 causes of work unhappiness in a holistic manner.
When I work with someone, we explore
- who they really are,
- what they most care about, and
- how they can align their work situation based on these things.
Or, in other words, we aim for
- Clarity about Self,
- Clarity about Priorities in Life, and
- Supported Growth based on these insights.
Let's explore these 3 components in more detail:
-
Clarity About Self
In most modern cultures (and certainly work cultures), people are taught to be hard on themselves and follow scripts created by other people.
Clarity About Self unravels that toxic conditioning and helps you create a more authentic life that is in alignment with your true nature.
-
Priorities in Life
Today, many people have more freedom than at any other time in history—both in their personal and professional life.
However, if you have an overwhelming number of options and no idea which one to choose, freedom of choice turns into a trap. True liberation comes from being clear on your Priorities In Life
-
Supported Growth
Throughout most of humanity’s existence, change signified danger.
As a result, humans still have a natural preference to maintain an unpalatable status quo (for instance, staying in a job that doesn’t work for them) over making a change.
However, with the right support, change and growth becomes a lot easier!
